Open Question: Does my Wife need a visa to visit Spain?

I am British and my wife will be joining me in the UK shortly from Indonesia,we plan to visit my parents in Spainnext year,I have read up that she will need a Schengen visa to enter Spain.does it not matter that she has married an Englishman with a British passport,does she still need one?? and does anyone know the cost,I have read soo many different views.does anyone really know from experience?
